Earlier this week, the December 2024 update was completed, uploaded and sent out to our customers.
There were a total of 5,082 changes made. The majority of those were made for fall sports whose season have recently ended. Many of the coaching staffs have been turning over in football, soccer and women’s volleyball. The next three months for football will be especially busy, with head coaches filling out their staffs — and the ripple effect that creates across all six divisions of college football.
This month, we’re also trying a bit of an experiment.
It’s sometimes hard to fathom just how many changes are made to our databases each month. I typically list the number on here. Our customers can see it in the spreadsheets they purchase, download and use.
But I want prospective customers to see the scale of the data processing that we do each month — and to show our service is legitimate. Therefore, I plan on somewhat-regularly publishing a list of all of the changes that have been made in a past update — without publishing any of coaches’ contact information. It’s just their names, school, position and what change/changes were made.
I just put up several of these posts for the September 2024 update, which had a total of 12,708 changes. It was one of our largest updates on record. The posts can be found here.
This is something we’re planning on doing somewhat regularly, moving forward. I think it will be helpful. We’ll usually wait about 3-4 months until we post the changes. But I hope the affect it has is unchanged — despite the delay.
